       Dr. Barry Raebeck is a professional educator, author, and consultant with forty-two years of experience. Having received his B.A. in English with High Honors from Wesleyan University, Barry earned his M.S. in Reading and Elementary Education from Long Island University, and his Ph.D. Summa Cum Laude in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia. He has served as a teacher, counselor, coach, advisor, principal, headmaster, director of curriculum, superintendent, and consultant. As a teacher, he is known for making learning both challenging and fun.

       Barry has undergone extensive professional training with the Independent Educational Consultants Association (ICEA), and is an associate member. In the past fifteen years, Barry has visited 437 college campuses, and 475 national and overseas campuses to date, establishing professional relationships with 225 admissions personnel.

       As a parent of three grown daughters who have graduated from Dartmouth College, James Madison University, and The College of William and Mary, respectively, Barry is familiar with all aspects of the college admittance process from the parents’ perspective. As a consultant, teacher, and reference writer, Barry has working knowledge of scores of selective and highly selective national colleges and universities. He has assisted students in gaining admittance to American, Amherst, Bard, Bates, Boston College, Boston University, Bowdoin, Brown, Bucknell, Colby, Colgate, College of Charleston, College of Wooster, Columbia, Connecticut College, Cornell, Dickinson, Duke, Franklin & Marshall, Furman, Geneseo, Georgetown, Gettysburg, Harvard, James Madison, Kenyon, Lafayette, Lehigh, Middlebury, Muhlenberg, Northeastern, Northwestern, NYU, Penn State, Princeton, Richmond, RISD, Skidmore, Santa Clara, Savannah College of Art and Design, Swarthmore, Trinity, Tufts, Tulane,  University of the Pacific, University of Pennsylvania, University of San Francisco, University of Vermont, University of Virginia, Vassar, Wake Forest, Wesleyan, and Yale, among many others.

       The author of a dozen articles in the field of education, and two books, Transforming Middle Schools: Guide to Whole-School Change, and The Teacher's Gradebook: Strategies for Student Success, Barry has presented over a hundred times on educational topics throughout the US, and has consulted with various school districts on essential aspects of school improvement. He has also served on the National Assessment of Educational Progress Committee on Secondary Reading. His latest book is a novel of historical fiction based on the life of the English Romantic poet and painter, William Blake. It is entitled, Tyger on the Crooked Road: William Blake--Poet, Painter, Prophet.
